Yoga Therapy

My Yoga Therapy sessions offer a unique blend of ancient wisdom and modern knowledge. I empower you to take an active role in your healing journey, helping you find what resonates best with your unique constitution and frequency. I integrate Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, and Naturopathic remedies to bring you a customized action plan for your well-being. My goal is to guide you to a place of emotional and physical balance. Transforming liabilities into strengths, making you a more balanced person. Many implement a Yoga Therapy approach because they are seeking to implement stress reducing tools, patterns, and practices.

What is the purpose of Yoga Therapy?

Our bodies hold stories of our lived experiences.  When we suppress or hide difficult emotions and don’t give ourselves the space to feel, move and express these experiences, this heavy energy of unresolved emotions such as shame, anger, sadness, and fear can fester and create inner tension in our bodies.  This can further also wreck havoc on our physical, mental, and spiritual wellness leaving imprints in our nervous system causing us to feel dysregulated more often than not.  All of the unprocessed emotional energy gets stored in our body, creates inflammation, and ultimately can lead to dis-ease.  You may have heard the expressions:  “the issues are in the tissues” or “the body keeps score”.  This is where Yoga Therapy comes into the mix.  We are working on embodiment through intentional movement and breath work.  Emotions are designed to move through our body, acting as messengers that communicate to us through sensations.  Constantly suppressing emotions can show up as postural imprints such as poor posture, neck and low back pain, clenching of the jaw or teeth grinding, chronically tight shoulders, pelvic pain, and inflammation to name a few. Traumatic experiences can become trapped in the body's tissues, leading to chronic tension and pain. Somatic healing approaches, such as Somatic Experiencing and trauma-informed yoga, help individuals release these stored traumatic memories. By slowly and mindfully working with the physical sensations associated with trauma, individuals can gradually process and integrate these experiences, leading to healing and resilience. Allow movement to become a language for self-discovery and healing.  My goal is to guide you to a place of emotional and physical balance and give you tools to empower yourself.

Yoga Therapy can also be an extension of where your Physical Therapy sessions have left off. Medical clearance must be provided. Other areas of my expertise are trauma recovery, addiction recovery, anxiety, depression, grief, nervous system regulation, and guided meditations.
